Tip of the Week
Tips for Week 5
Looking for a good place to study or meet with classmates? The Library offers a variety of study spaces to fit your style. Group Study Rooms for two or more students can be reserved through the —perfect for group projects, flashcards, or whiteboard sessions. For quiet focus, visit the Silent Study Room on the 3rd floor, with comfortable chairs and carrels for individual work.
If you prefer a bit of background noise, the Library Balcony provides a semi-private niche, and the Center Building’s 3rd floor offers additional study spots—two unreserved group rooms, a quiet north-facing area with great views, and open seating above J&J for group discussions.
As you reach the midpoint of the term, take time to check your progress. If you’re unsure how you’re doing, ask your instructors for feedback and explore available study or tutoring resources to help you finish strong.

Find Support at LCC
The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) has announced that Oregonians who receive food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will not receive new benefits after October 31 if the federal government shutdown continues. Benefits will be issued as quickly as possible once federal operations resume.
For food assistance, the Titan Food Pantry remains open to all Lane students:
-
When: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and Friday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
-
Where: Main Campus, Center Building, Room 153. The pantry is located on the ground floor facing Building 12, with the entrance in the breezeway between the cafeteria and the main loading dock.
-
Closed: November 11; November 24–30; and December 13–January 4.
Students can also find additional food resources in the community through the following:
Tips to Prepare
-
Check your EBT card balance regularly and continue following SNAP rules/reporting requirements.
-
Planning lower-cost, shelf-stable meal ideas such as pasta, oats, beans, rice, canned items, and seasonal produce.
-
Freezing or preserving extra portions to reduce spoilage and food waste.
-
Visiting food pantries earlier rather than later, as supplies can run low during high-demand periods.
Lane Community College encourages any student facing food insecurity to reach out to the CARE program or visit the Titan Food Pantry for assistance and resources.

Get to Know Your Student Representatives!
Meet your Treasury Officer, Lake Moodley — the financial guardian of our Student Government! From balancing budgets to keeping every dollar accountable, they make sure our funds are used wisely to support student life. Always crunching numbers with purpose, Senator 4 ensures transparency, sustainability, and the financial foundation for all the great things we do on campus.
1. Where are you originally from?
I am from Johannesburg, South Africa.
2. What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, playing soccer or practicing my drumming skills.
3. Tell us something about your role in SGA that you have become passionate about.
My role as the treasurer is not as exciting as the other roles but I have always had a passion for numbers and in my role I get to look at a bunch of numbers and spreadsheets, which most people find boring but I enjoy it.
4. What impact(s) would you like to make during your time at LCC?
As an SGA Senator, I would love to improve student engagement and participation in clubs and events that LCC offers. As a student I always aim to be friendly and try to build some type of relationship with any interaction on campus.
5. Favorite student resource and why?
My favorite resource here at LCC would be the Academic Advisor who more recently has helped me immensely with taking the correct classes and assisting me with my plans after graduation.
Have any questions for him? Stop by Center 201 for office hours or email him at senator4@my.lanecc.edu
