Budget Updates & Student Input
Lane’s Board of Education recently approved two key actions related to the college budget: a three-year mitigation plan to address financial challenges in a gradual, thoughtful way, and FY27 budget parameters that guide next year’s budget planning, including elevating student voice in tuition discussions.
With these decisions in place, the college is moving into the next phase — gathering student input.
Get involved:
Attend the Budget Development Subcommittee meeting on January 14 at 12 PM
Share your perspective through the current ThoughtExchange
Student voices matter, and your input will help shape budget decisions that affect tuition, services, and campus life.

Credit for Prior Learning
The LCC Faculty Council's Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Policy is up for review according to its five-year review cycle. At its December 5, 2025 meeting, Faculty Council voted to form a task force to review the CPL Policy and expressed a desire to include expertise from across the campus community in its work. We envision the work to include remote work by email and limited hybrid (Zoom/in-person) meetings through 2026.
If you have experience and expertise with CPL, or are simply interested in learning and contributing a student's perspective to the work, please send a brief statement of interest to the Faculty Council Co-Chairs, at faculty-council@lanecc.edu by 12PM Friday, January 16.
