Student Voices Needed: Special Budget Work Session
The Budget Development Subcommittee (BDS) will be holding a special work session on Wednesday, January 28, from 12:00–1:30 PM in 19/243. This session will include an overview of BDS’s role in college governance, along with dedicated time for students to share perspectives on the college budget and the possibility of tuition increases.
All students are welcome to attend and speak, and any survey data or feedback you have is encouraged.

Weekly Storytelling with NASA on Fridays
Looking for a welcoming space to share stories and connect with community? NASA is hosting a weekly storytelling gathering every Friday from 3:00–3:30 PM in the Longhouse, where students can come together to listen, share, and reflect. Immediately following, NASA will hold its business meeting from 3:30–4:30 PM. All students are welcome to attend and get involved. Interested in joining or learning more? Contact nasa@my.lanecc.edu.

Women Beat Clark Penguins, Men Seeking A Move Up Southern Region Standings
The Lane Community College Titans are back on the road this week for an important conference matchup against the Umpqua Riverhawks on Wednesday, January 28, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 PM.
The Titans men’s and women’s basketball programs took the court on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a doubleheader versus the Clark Penguins. The Titan men opened the day with a 74-63 loss. Lane kept pace in the first frame and made a late comeback in the second half, but fell short in the end.
On the heels of freshman Gretchen Orton being named the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Athlete of the Week, the Titans defeated the Penguins for their fourth conference win. Both teams will play on the road Wednesday against the Linn-Benton Roadrunners (men @ 5:30 PM, women @ 7:30 PM)
Drop-in recreation opportunities are available to students. The gym is open to students Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Fridays 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, pickleball can be set up upon request!

Protecting Lives: Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness
Suicide is a public health crisis. It is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10-34. Firearms are the most lethal and most commonly used suicide method in the United States. Reducing access to firearms saves lives. More more resources stop by the Mental Health and Wellness Center.

Tutoring and STEM Zone Resources
Tutoring will be holding drop-in math sessions this term to support students in all levels of math and statistics!
Drop-in sessions are great for working through a tricky problem, reviewing for quizzes or tests, and getting help with homework. No appointment is needed, just drop in to the STEM Learning Zone (16/169) anytime Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 - 4:00 PM!
Appointments for math and other subjects will still be available through our website (lanecc.edu/tutor), in addition to drop-in hours.

Do you have a concern about a class?
If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
