Environmental Science/Studies and Sustainability Coordinator Students,

The City of Eugene's Waste Prevention team would like to get the word out about a paid internship opportunity: Recreational Vehicle (RVs) Research & Report. The research would be focused around RVs that have been abandoned and/or towed in compliance with City Ordinance along with gaining clarity on rehab efforts locally and around the country. This research is important to us for many reasons, including but not limited to gaining clarity on viable alternatives to putting these vehicles in our local landfill, aka Short Mountain.

For your reference, please see attached scope of work (SOW). This is a paid internship. Dates are flexible.

Interested students should e-mail a resume and a short letter of interest about why they want to do this research project which includes:

  1. how they believe working on this research project will help their professional growth
  2. how they believe they can contribute to our team
  3. contact information (email, phone)

Students can email Garian Cika, Waste Prevention Analyst, at GCika@eugene-or.gov and copy Waste Prevention Supervisor Deveron Musgrave dmusgrave@eugene-or.gov and Donny Addison daddison@eugene-or.gov. The Waste Prevention team can then reach out to student(s) to schedule a follow-up virtual or in-person meeting at 99 W. 10th Ave downtown to see who may be the best fit for this work.
