User Menu

boost user menuThe My Courses area provides access to the user menu items but in a different display than Boost courses. In Boost (as shown), clicking your name in the interface will display the Moodle user menu. This menu contains the following features:

  • Dashboard: This is a user's homepage. It can be customized by the user and site administrator.
  • Profile: The profile allows users to share information about themselves with others, view reports, review login information, and view course information.
  • Grades: This area displays course grades.
  • Messages: This feature is used for private communication between student/teacher or student/student (i.e., one-on-one communication). Messages are organized in the block by threads, much like an instant chat program. Messages are not course-specific, so teachers who have multiple courses can view messages from students in all of their courses.
  • Preferences: This area allows users to configure site preferences.
  • Log out: This feature will log a user out of the system.
  • Switch role to..: This allows users to view the site/course as a different role. Only users with permissions to view other roles will see this feature. For example, students would not see this option but teachers would.
