Preferences are important settings for controlling communication methods. By updating these settings, users can:
- Control when they want to receive emails. Receive an individual email for each forum post made in a course, or receive a digest of the day's activity.
- Automatically subscribe to a forum after an initial posting.
- Highlight new posts as a way to track what has been viewed. This can be helpful for teachers.
In Moodle, your preferences are available in the user menu. Users can update their user preferences by completing these steps:
- Open My Courses.
- Select the Preferences link, located under User Details. Then select Forum preferences when the screen refreshes.
