Welcome to Unit 1! Are you ready to get started? We will be learning the basics of accessibility, getting to know your support structure and Lane Community College's take on accessibility for online content. Review the goals below then jump into the learning content, once you are ready!
Learning Goals
- Discuss what accessibility and Universal Design for Learning is in a digital environment and why it’s important. (CLO 1)
- Elaborate on methods of applying Universal Design for Learning in a digital environment. (CLO 1)
- Recognize how to find Lane Community College’s policies around digital accessibility. (CLO 3)
- Identify who is responsible for ensuring course accessibility and where to go for support. (CLO 2)
Unit Learning Content
- Learn about what accessibility is and why it's important [11 minutes]:
- Review using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and watch a short video on applying UDL [8 minutes]:
- Read through Lane Community College's policy around accessibility. It is important to be able to find them in the COPPS policy site to review them occasionally for any changes.
