Here is a whole manual from the web for instructors coming out of a well-respected university in New York. (Web link or google doc link). The emphasis in this "Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning" style seems to be on setting up student teams for collaboration in an inquiry, which may be closer to the whole-class inquiry style
