Videos: Cool short videos of Inquiry Method!
“teaching inquiry learning.” Creative, part animation part “real” presentation of the steps in and process around Inquiry Based learning. Just over 4 minutes.
Okay, so this is more of an ad but it’s a fun ad for Inquiry and Problem Based Learning. My question to you: did YOU ever have a class like the one the video opens with? Did you ever TEACH like that? (Note: you are not obliged to answer ) Only 2.5 minutes for a little fun and inspiration.
“Inquiry-Based Learning.” This shows grade school kids, so ignore that, but it lists six probably typical steps in Inquiry Based Learning that apply to anyone using this approach. Good for many subjects. Will remind you of the scientific method and problem-based approaches. Just over 3 minutes.
“Inquiry Teaching Approach Video Project with Narration.” Another clarifying video about this process. Nearly 7 minutes. It also features grade/high school students, but the concepts seem universally applicable.
“Supporting Inquiry in the Classroom.” A talk given to educators concerning how the Inquiry process pertains to science. PARTICIPANTS GET TO PLAY WITH FUN SCIENCE STUFF AND USE THIS PROCESS! About 8 minutes. (Don’t you just love the electronic pointy-hand thing the presenter uses on her interactive white board?) Also, nice “Inquiry Plan” form for students to fill in their learning process.
