❄️Winter 2025 Prep & ATC Holiday Hours for Support

Instructors,

As we head into the end-of-year stretch (and whatever holidays you celebrate), this is a friendly nudge to wrap up a few key items before things slow down campus-wide. ATC support availability will become limited beginning December 22nd, and you’ll find the full schedule and closure details at the bottom of this email.

✅ Winter Term Meta Requests

If you’re planning meta course shells for winter term, please submit those requests as soon as possible. Early requests help avoid last-minute scrambles—on your end and ours.

🗄️ Course Archive Restores

If you need access to a previously archived course (for grade review, reference materials, or planning), please submit archive restore requests ahead of the break. Turnaround time will be notably longer.

Reminder: New MyLane Interface Rolls Out Next Week

MyLane is transitioning to Ellucian’s latest version of Banner (v9) with a refreshed interface and updated dashboards for employees. The update goes live Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. Your MyLane URL (my.lanecc.edu) and login credentials will remain the same, though the interface will look different.

Moodle Training Resources

MoodleHQ "Teaching Basics" YouTube Playlist – Our quick “go to” resource for those who need to get started ASAP. Watch a few videos and then ask for ATC assistance when you need it.
Moodle Academy teaching “basics” is being regularly maintained and has the most updated support documents and training resources.
Linkedin Learning Course “Moodle Basics” — not quite as dry and a bit friendlier than MoodleHQ's trainings. If you're already logged into classes.lanecc.edu you can jump directly to the Linkedin Learning Training without signing in.

⚠️ Moodle: Maintenance Update v4.5 MP3 - No substantial Changes

Our Moodle hosting provider will be applying a software upgrade between the hours of 12:30am-2:30am Pacific Standard Time (PST). During this upgrade, classes.lanecc.edu may be unreachable and/or slow to respond. Actual downtime is often less (typically 2-3hrs) than the hours allotted, but please plan accordingly. Read the OpenLMS Release Notes for a list of security updates and minor fixes.

ℹ️ Academic Technology Center (ATC) Holiday & Modified Support Hours
The Academic Technology Center (ATC) is a one-stop support center for faculty and staff. We provide troubleshooting, training, production assistance, and a drop-in lab (Center 208, down the hall from J&J Coffee Shop) to support the use of a wide variety of technologies for instructional and academic purposes.

📅 Regular Hours: December 15 - December 19: In-person Monday-Friday 9am-4pm | Virtual (via Zoom): 10am-2pm --> Join Live
🚫 College Closed (No Support Services): December 24 – December 26, January 1
