Commencement Sat., June 15, 2024: We ask qualifying graduates to RSVP for the ceremony due Fri., May 24. 

LCC is providing FREE graduation photo shoot for graduates! Save the moment, the memory, and share the excitement with your family! This service will be at Bristow Square, Fri. May 24, 1:00-3:00 PM and come dressed for success. If you have question please contact studentlife@lanecc.edu.

Center for Accessible Resources (CAR) invite students who are participating in Commencement with disabilities to wear a cord to recognize their accomplishments. Students can complete this brief form and then pick up their cord from CAR (19/263A) during finals week.

Law Enforcement Crisis Negotiation Drill- Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police, and LCC Public Safety will be conducting a drill on Wed., May 29 in and around Building 15 from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Building 15 will be locked down for the entirety of the drill and will be used solely for the training. There will be no live fire, simulated ammunition, or sirens used in any of the scenarios. There will be no loud hailing (loudspeaker usage). Every effort will be made to keep the integrity of the learning environment intact. There will be uniformed and plain clothes Law Enforcement Officers on campus for the drill. The Lane Poetry Alliance is adding to our lineup of events with our biggest yet. This Thur., May 23, the University of Oregon is hosting their Undergraduate Research Symposium and we are giving a poetry reading/analysis from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M. in the E.M.U. Cedar room #231. Our title is Echoes of Expression and we would be positively ecstatic to see some Lane poetry fans there! 
 
May is Mental Health Month! Join the Mental Health and Wellness Center outside the Center Building on Tues., May 21 and Wed., May 22 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM to create your personalized self soothing kit. Self soothing kits are a great way to practice putting mental health moments throughout your day.
 
Gender Equity Center- GEC is here for you, with Wednesday walks, Tuesday transitions (learn methods to navigate and manage changes in your life), and Thursday Women's Self Care group.
 
They/Them Pride! In celebration of trans pride, at the Library there will be books by transgender and nonbinary writers, including poetry, memoir, fiction, and more, are on display through May.

Do you have a concern about a class? If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain
 
Common Read: Read an amazing book lately? The Common Read at Lane program will launch Fall 2024 and host a series of discussion circles and activities for the LCC campus community around a single book during the 2024-2025 academic year. The chosen book will be provided for free (while supplies last), and events will be open to all students and LCC employees. Suggestions for next year's Common Read are being accepted through Wed., May 22. 
 
Are you a parent of a child under 18? We are inviting you to a focus group on Thur., May 23 or Wed., May 29 on the main campus at 3:30- 4:30 PM. The purpose of this group is to hear your voice about what you think parent students need on campus in order to be successful. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
 
The Oregon Student Association (OSA), Disability Rights Oregon (DRO), and the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) are conducting a statewide survey to understand the experiences of disabled students in Oregon’s higher education institutions. Your participation is crucial in helping them gather insights to improve accessibility and inclusivity. The survey will be open until Tues., June 28 and the survey questions seek to gather valuable insights into the effectiveness of disability accommodations, the accessibility of campus environments, and the overall campus climate for individuals with disabilities. Responses are anonymous.
