Getting Ready for Week 1: Ease your nerves by getting organized this week. Here’s a few things to do before the term begins:
Know Your Schedule- Log into your myLane account to check your schedule. Write down or put the following into your calendar for each of your course, include: Course title, Instructor name, Instructor email, CRM (Course Reference Number), Class meeting day/s, Class Meeting times, Class modality (in-person, hybrid, online), Class location, if in-person, including Building and Room numbers. If you need help, you can connect with our Early Outreach Navigators by visiting- Building 1, first floor, emailing earlyoutreach@lanecc.edu or calling 541-463-5244.
Get TAO (Therapy Assistance Online) and access TAO over 150 brief, effective, educational sessions covering over 50 common topics and skills related to mental health, wellness, and substance use issues. TAO Includes interactive sessions, mindfulness exercises and practice tools all aimed at helping you achieve your goals.
The Learning Zone: Get the term started right! Drop in day 1 for help making a term study plan at the Learning Zone in Building 16, Room 193 and 169, where you can find help in not only math and science but writing, humanities, and other subjects. Grab a free snack, set up an appointment with an academic coach, or just enjoy a break from classes.
TalkCampus,- Lonely? Need someone to talk to? a peer to peer support community for students available 24/7 any where in the world. It's free to students! Sign up in the Google Play store or from the App store.
ATC-Digital Tool Hub It’s a new term, and you’re prepping for classes. You need to create a presentation but realize your computer doesn’t have PowerPoint. You check the Digital Tool Hub and find Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, is free for students with a Lane email. Digital Tool Hub improve your workflow with software and allows you to succeed as a student. Do you have a concern about a class? If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
