LCC Student Focus Group - FREE pizza tomorrow

Tomorrow free PIZZA! Join us for a student focus group on Wednesday, November 20, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM in the Center Building, Room 229 (Library). LCC wants to hear from you! This focus group is your chance to share your story and experience at Lane Community College. Topics include: How did you hear about LCC? What’s working well for you here? What can LCC do to make your experience even better? Free pizza will be provided! Please note that all participants are required to stay for the entire session.

The Student Production Association presents Small Mouth Sounds, a critically acclaimed play by Bess Wohl, directed by SPA founder Tara Wibrew and featuring Theatre faculty Dr. Brian Haimbach. This humorous, thought-provoking production runs Nov., 21 - 23 at 7:30 P.M. and Nov. 24 at 2:00 P.M. in the Blue Door Theater, Building 6, on Lane's main campus. Admission is free, with cash donations appreciated. Arrive 10 minutes early; no late seating. Recommended for ages 14+

From November 18-22, colleges around the world celebrate International Education Week, and Lane Community College is no exception! Join International Programs in our main office (Building One, Room 116) each day at 3:00 PM to learn about new cultures and celebrate the international students who call Lane home. Each day will be themed around a different part of the world: Monday, Nov. 18: Central and Northern Asia Tuesday, Nov. 19: Africa and the Middle East Wednesday, Nov. 20: The Americas Thursday, Nov. 21: Europe Friday, Nov. 22: South & Southeast Asia and Oceania We hope to see you there!

Next week On Nov., 26 Lane Student Government Association in collaboration with Titan Food Panty is hosting a Harvest Feast! Free lunch will be provided in Haugland Commons, located on the 2nd floor of Center Building from 11:00-1:30 pm on Tuesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 - 3:00 PM *while supplies last* stop by Titan Food Pantry and Closet in Center 153 and get a free Thanksgiving Dinner- In- A- Bag to cut down your grocery bills.

Day: Dec., 6 The Library’s Study Jam is back! Thanks to partnerships with Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Government Association, we will have free pizza, snacks, and refreshments in the Library on Tuesday, December 3rd, 3-5pm. Come by for some nourishment, extra study help, tutors, relaxation tips, therapy dogs, and more!

Day: Dec., 6 The Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC) invites all students to its first public review session! This is your opportunity to see firsthand how student fees are allocated to support programs like the Student Government (SGA), Council of Clubs (COC), ASLCC Access the Law, and the Oregon Student Association (OSA). Whether in person (CEN 202) or online, come observe the funding process in action and learn how your fees contribute to campus life. We look forward to seeing you there on Friday from 4:00-6:00 PM!

Day: Dec., 7 Join Transponder for a Credit Building Workshop with DevNW where you'll learn about improving your credit score and financial health. This FREE in-person event will cover debt, credit scores, resources and how to build & protect your credit! Register here.

Tip of the Week: Friday is the last day to make Fall term schedule changes! If you are considering taking an Incomplete, changing your grading method, or withdrawing, November 22 is the last day to do so for this term. ****Always check with an Academic Advisor before making these types of changes.**** Please contact academicadvising@lanecc.edu or stop by Building 1; first floor.

Get a flu shot! Walk-in flu shots available for Lane students and employees. Flu shots free for students with OHP (Oregon medicaid), $20 for students with other insurance or no insurance. $20 for employees. Please bring your insurance card if you have OHP. *not available to those with Medicare part B Thursday Nov. 14th, 8:30-12:30 PM Building 18, Room 101

If you see something that doesn't seem right to you, say something by reporting it to Public Safety at 541-463-5558. Public Safety Officers will respond and observe and/or investigate the behavior. It is better to err on the side of caution in preventing possible crime and/or suspicious behavior that could lead to violence.

Apply for multiple Scholarships with one application! The 2024-25 OSAC Scholarship Application (for Oregon residents) opens on November 1! Attend a Scholarship Workshop to learn how to be a strong applicant. We’ll also review the LCC Foundation and Ford Family Foundation applications.

TODAY! Provide your feedback on LCC's Climate Action Plan (CAP) update process. Listening Session event on Tuesday November 19 from 2:30pm - 4:00pm in Cen 217 with FREE FOOD. Attend and share feedback on CAP priorities and climate concerns.

Do you have a concern about a class? If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
