Weeks of Welcome: Get Ready for an Epic Start!

Week 1: Monday (Jan., 6) Get Chees-ee in the Courtyard with your favorite Presidents  who will be serving up FREE Grilled Cheese in the Center Plaza | 10:00 -12:00 PM and Monday & Tuesday (Jan., 6 -7): Stop by Center Plaza for free snacks and coffee, look for the folks in bright yellow vests to help you find your classes! | 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Week 2: Wednesday (Jan., 15): Resource Fair Discover all the campus has to offer at the Resource Fair – freebies and info galore! | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and learn How to Start a Club in CEN 202.| 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Week 3: Tuesday (Jan., 21): Find your next big gig! Stop by the Student Job Fair for on-campus jobs | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Week 4: Thursday (Jan., 30): Join the fun! Explore student clubs and organizations at the Student Engagement Mixer | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Week 5: Monday (Feb., 3): Pop on in for Popcorn and Presidents – Enjoy FREE popcorn while and connect with leaders of your college. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share your ideas, or just chill! | 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Want to bring students together who share your interests, passions, or goals? Join us for an engaging workshop on starting a club at Lane Community College! Learn everything you need to know about forming a club, finding members, and accessing resources to help your club thrive. Whether you’re interested in academics, hobbies, or social causes, this is the perfect opportunity to turn your ideas into action. Make sure to stop by on Wed., Jan., 15, 4:00 - 6:00 PM in Center Building, Room 202.

Campus departments will be featuring positions from LETS, Learn and Earn, Federal Work Study, and Internships! This is a great opportunity for students to learn about campus employment opportunities and how to apply, while building connections for employment this year or next! Students are encouraged to bring a resume or be ready to share your employment history. We look forward to seeing you there on Tues., Jan., 21 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the Center Building Atrium. Here’s a few things to do before the term begins: Know Your Schedule

Log into your myLane account to check your schedule. Write down or put the following into your calendar for each of your courses:

Course title - Instructor name & email - CRN (Course Reference Number) - Class meeting days & times - Class modality (in-person, hybrid, online) - Class location (find your way on our digital map)

 

Log into your Moodle account, where you’ll find course materials and resources for your online classes. Also don't forget to connect with our College Achievement Coaches: Building 1 - earlyoutreach@lanecc.edu - 541-463-5244.

Bus Pass Students who pay the $27/term student transportation fee are eligible to apply for a bus pass at any time for that term. This pass is valid from Jan., 1- Mar., 31.

Titan Food Pantry and Closet located in Center 153 (the "back" part of Center Building facing Building 12), for Winter 2025, Monday-Wednesday, 10 am-3 pm.

Lactation Room Parents nursing children have access to a lactation room located at the Gender Equity Center, Building 1, Suite 202. 

Learning Zone Need help sifting through syllabus, navigating Moodle, remembering where to be when, and figuring out due dates? Drop in to the Learning Zone in Building 16, Room 193 to make a term plan with an Academic Coach! Coaching and tutoring are free to Lane students. Online options also available at lanecc.edu/hub (link opens Zoom front desk).

ATC-Digital Tool Hub Digital Tool Hub improve your workflow with software and allows you to succeed as a student. You check the Digital Tool Hub and find Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, is free for students with a Lane email. 

Do you have a concern about a class? If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
