A New Course is Being Offered in Spanish! The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program will be offering Lane's first course in Spanish. This summer, Child Development (HDFS 226e) will be offered as an 8-week online course beginning June 23rd. (CRN: 10382 – 3 credits). Child Development studies the physical, social-emotional, and intellectual development of the child from birth through adolescence, with some emphasis on prenatal influences. A survey of various child-study approaches is included with instruction and experience in observing and recording behavior of young children. The course introduces adult-child differences, the value of play, and the role of discipline. This course is required for ECE majors and is also an excellent choice for the health professions or as an elective. It is also a great choice for anyone who is or wishes to become a parent, is working or would like to work with children. |
