Recently we have had some questions regarding the removal of Class Archives 09/11 and 2012. I would like to address these concerns.
The “Winter 2009 through Fall 2011” and “Class Archives 2012” are built on an older version of Moodle (version 1.9). Technical support from Moodle core for this version of Moodle has stopped as of December 2012. The loss of support for Moodle 1 was also a major factor why we had to upgrade our current courses to Moodle 2 last year. Because there is no longer technical support for these sites some security risks remain. Because of these risks, we must remove them to secure student data.
If you would like to retain access to older courses that are on the 09/11 and/or 2012 archives you will need to create and download a backup file. If you need help with the backup process or would like to request this be done for you – please contact the ATC.
We have also built a page that outlines many Moodle procedures. We ask that you review this page to learn more about the processes on how courses, accounts, and enrollments are created and processed. This page will also help define more about the Moodle Archives as well as end and start of term procedures.
