Welcome back, Titans!  We are very excited for you to continue your academic journey at Lane Community College. 
 
The Titan Times is a newsletter produced by LCC to inform and educate current students about student activities and issues as well as academic updates, upcoming events, student programs, and institutional policies. Please enjoy a Titan Times in your student e-mail box every Tuesday of the term.

Got Tech Skills?

The Student Help Desk (SHeD) is seeking qualified applicants for Student Help Desk Support Technician.

Applicants should have excellent customer service skills and strong general computer and web experience. Experience using Moodle and knowledge of Lane's Enrollment policies is preferred.

SHeD has both Work Study and Non-Work Study Positions available:

You can browse through an overview of their content here. There are some surprising courses, including our most popular, "Working and Collaborating Online." Others include "Rock Guitar Lessons: Teach Yourself to Play," and "Excel Essential Training: Office 365/Microsoft 365." Rainy-Day Food Pantry! 
Is your food budget tight? Let us help! The Rainy Day Pantry serves students of Lane Community College. Order your food box online and pick it up on Tuesday between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. We prefer appointments but welcome walk-ins. You will find us on Lane's Main Campus on 30th Ave, Center Building, Room 153. . If you need accommodations or have questions, email foodpantry@lanecc.edu.
 
Note: Services will be closed on Tuesday, October 18th.

LCC Health Clinic Updates

HIV Alliance Event

 

The HIV Alliance will be providing free HIV, Hepatitis C and Syphilis testing.

Date: Wednesday, October 12, 2022

Location: Building 18, Room 101

This is a walk-in clinic, no appointment is needed. The testing is available for LCC students, employees or community members.

Monkeypox vaccine will also be available.

Call 541-463-5665 to reserve your dose or see if you qualify for the vaccine.

 
Health Clinic On Campus 
Did you know that there is a Health Clinic on campus? See a nurse practitioner or RN for any of your health care needs. The Health Clinic offers a wide range of sexual health services: 
  • Online Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) screening. Fill out this form, and a nurse will contact you to set up an appointment for testing. The online screening form is only if you do not have symptoms. If you have any symptoms of a STI, please contact the clinic to make an appointment asap so you can get treatment.
  • The Health Clinic provides prescriptions for PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), a daily pill that helps prevent HIV for those who are at high risk. Make an appointment to get more information, or to find out if PrEP is right for you.
  • Make an appointment with a provider to discuss birth control options.

The Titan Times is shared with students weekly on Tuesday afternoons. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. on Fridays during the regular term. If the campus is closed for a holiday on a Monday, the publication will be shared with students the following afternoon.
