Students who have routine, sleep better
From the Mental Health and Wellness Center (mhwc@lanecc.edu, 541-463-5920): Studies have shown that individuals who maintain a routine are more productive, have less stress, better sleeping habits, better eating habits, as well as improved overall mental health. Here are some ways to help develop a routine.
- Decide what needs to be in your routine such as school, work, studying, exercise, important activities, such as sleeping and eating.
- Set small goals for yourself, break larger assignments into smaller more manageable pieces throughout your week.
- Start with one week at a time to help you decide what needs to be in your routine and what does not.
- Don’t forget about yourself! Set time aside to do something you enjoy that helps you relieve stress or unwind.
