Welcome to winter term, Titans! On your way to class, warm up with free coffee and snacks! Swing by our Welcome Tent outside the Center Building (CEN), Jan. 8 and 9, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Online students: participate via Moodle with an online scavenger hunt.

LCC welcomes Titus Kaphar's artist perspective on Jan. 11

 
Titus Kaphar, renowned for his innovative approach to visual art, will present “Making Room for Diverse History,” a compelling talk that promises to challenge and inspire. Kaphar's work reimagines and reinterprets historical narratives by bringing marginalized voices to the forefront, thereby reshaping our understanding of American history and culture.
 
This free presentation will be on Thu., Jan. 11, 3:30-4:30 pm, at Building 10, Ground Floor. A reception with refreshments will be held following the event from 5-6 pm. For more information and to RSVP for this event, please visit www.lanecc.edu/MLK .

New term means new bus passes, and other services

 

Students registered for campus-based credit classes and charged the $27/term student transportation fee qualify for an electronic bus pass that can be used for unlimited bus and EmX rides with Lane Transit District. Winter passes will be valid from Jan. 1-Mar. 31, 2024. To get more information and apply, click here .

LCC students use the Umo smartphone app to access LTD--no student ID card is needed. However, sometimes students need a student ID card to access social services and/or local discounts that require a card. To apply, click here .

Lastly, LCC has a student food pantry located at Center 153 (on the side across from Building 12). The pantry provides no-cost food for all students need to supplement their food supply for any reason. The Pantry is open Mon.-Wed., 10 am-3 pm.

Eugene-Springfield emergency services have changed

 
Students who need emergency medical attention can go to the emergency departments at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, or PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center in Cottage Grove.
 
If you are experiencing a medical emergency , you should not hesitate to call 911 or go to the closest emergency department.

If you are not in need of emergency care but need after-hours care or urgent care you
can seek care at an urgent care center or call your primary care provider to see if they
offer after-hours care or advice. Here is a complete list of community resources .
 
Most Lane students are eligible to use the LCC Health Clinic , which will be open starting Jan. 8.

Short-term leases at Titan Court, Downtown Eugene

 

Short-term lease options are available at Titan Court through LCC’s International Programs. Apartment-style housing includes four private bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, and a shared living room and kitchen space. Included with rent: internet, electricity, water, garbage, cable TV, and a furnished apartment. For more information or to request an application, please email Lanehousing@lanecc.edu.
