1. Find the Skeleton in the Library
Take a stroll through the library this Halloween week and see if you can find the spooky skeleton! Look out for hidden candy surprises – if you dare. It’s a fun and festive way to enjoy the season while spending some time among the books!

2. Presidents, Pumpkins, and Pizza
Celebrate Halloween in the Center Building Atrium, on the second floor with a mix of pumpkins, pizza, and plenty of community spirit! Join us on October 31 from 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. to unwind, enjoy a slice, and connect with your peers and staff in a relaxed, festive atmosphere. *while supplies last*

1. Halloween Plastics Round-Up
Tired of tossing out yogurt containers and other #2, #4, & #5 plastics? Bring them to our Halloween Plastics Round-Up on Thursday, October 31, from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the east entrance of the Center Building. All plastics must be clean and dry. This initiative is sponsored by the Sustainability Committee, so come join us in making a difference!

2. Get Your Flu Shot
Keep yourself and those around you healthy this flu season. Flu shots are available to Lane students and employees in a convenient walk-in clinic. They’re free for students with OHP (Oregon Medicaid); otherwise, they’re $20 for students and employees. (Not available for those with Medicare Part B.)

Costume Contest in the STEM Learning Zone
Get creative and show off your Halloween spirit at the STEM Learning Zone in Building 16, Room 169. Academic and Tutoring Services is hosting a costume contest with prizes and Halloween treats, running from 9:00 - 4:00 P.M. on October 31. Categories include:

Best Student Costume Best Group Costume (Students and Employees eligible)Best Pun-based Costume (Students and Employees eligible)

Put on your Halloween best, but remember: no full-face masks, realistic weapons, or costumes that stereotype cultures.

Day: Oct., 30 The Lane Men and Women's Soccer Teams have a home double-header this Wednesday. The men's team starts at 4:15 PM against Portland. They will have a chance to win the Southern Region Championship. The women's team follows at 6:30 PM against Umpqua with a chance to make the NWAC playoffs with a win.

Day: Nov., 8 Veterans Day Observance Ceremony, please join us for our observation of Veterans Day on Fri. Nov., 8 from 10:00 - 12:00 P.M. at the Longhouse, refreshments and food will be available. We would be honored to have you in attendance.

Day: Nov., 21- 24 The Student Production Association presents Small Mouth Sounds, a critically acclaimed play by Bess Wohl, directed by SPA founder Tara Wibrew and featuring Theatre faculty Dr. Brian Haimbach. This humorous, thought-provoking production runs Nov., 21 - 23 at 7:30 P.M. and Nov. 24 at 2:00 P.M. in the Blue Door Theater, Building 6, on Lane's main campus. Admission is free, with cash donations appreciated. Arrive 10 minutes early; no late seating. Recommended for ages 14+

Day: Nov., 6 Mental Health and Wellness Center You can do drop-in appointments for existing and new students who need some support on the day after Election Day from 9:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 PM.

Check Your Progress: Have you received midterm grades from your instructors? Don’t be afraid to ask your instructors how you are doing in your classes, and what you need to do to improve, if necessary. Resources are available if you need them!

Registration will open for both winter 2025 and spring 2025 on November 11th. You can make a plan with your academic advisor and register for both terms at the same time, if you wish to take advantage of this option. Students with Veteran, CAR, or credit priority registration can register for both terms starting on November 4th and on the following days by credits earned. Course schedules for summer and fall will be available on October 28th. Secure your spots early!

Do you have a concern about a class? If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
