Today, Welcome back event at the Longhouse!
Join the Longhouse Steward and the Native American & Longhouse Advisory Council for a quiet, drop-in welcome during week one for students taking Native Studies and Chinuk Wawa. Light refreshments, quick hellos, and connections will be offered at the Hall of Honor entrance from 8:00–9:30 AM and 2:00–4:00 PM. No registration is required; this in-person gathering is open to all students, current and prospective Native Studies, Chinuk Wawa, and NASA students..

Lost? We’ve got you! Stop by the large tent by the Center Building (inside depending on weather) for some help finding your classes and get FREE coffee and snacks | 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM.
Also, don't miss your opportunity to join the Titan Trek is a 45-minute accessible walking tours during these days that introduces students to key campus resources, including the Center for Accessible Resources, Zen Den, student engagement spaces, Fitness Education Center, and the Titan Food Pantry. Walk at a comfortable pace, explore supportive spaces, and discover how Lane helps every Titan thrive. | 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM & 1:30 PM.

Want to know what’s happening on campus and have a say in decisions that impact students? SGA holds public meetings every Tuesday at 4:00 PM in Center 202—all students are welcome! The Board of Education meets tonight at 6:00 PM in Building 3 (they decide your tuition), and the Council of Clubs meets Wednesdays at 4:00 PM in Center 202.
Clubs and RSOs will also receive trainings and resources to help them thrive and can always stop by Student Life and Leadership for more information. Stay in the know, share your ideas, and help shape the Titan experience!

First Week Attendance and Activity Requirements
Don’t get dropped from your classes!

For in-person courses, you must attend the class in the first week.

For online courses, you must log in and complete an exercise if there is one.
Important Deadline Reminder - Monday, Oct., 6 at 11:59 PM
Next Monday is the last day to drop a current term course and receive a full refund. If you’re using Financial Aid, be sure to check with a financial aid advisor before you drop a class so it doesn’t affect your aid.
Interest-free payment plans are available if your current term bill is $100 or more.

Student Engagement Updates
The Gender Equity Center (GEC), located in Building 1, Room 202, is open to all students and will also serve as the new hangout space for those who previously used the Multicultural Center (MCC). The MCC will still be available for meetings and events, but it will no longer have consistent open hours.
During the first week of Fall 2025, the GEC will be open:

Get a flu shot at the LCC Student Health and Wellness Center
Take steps to stay healthy this winter and protect yourself and your community by getting a flu shot! The Student Health and Wellness Center now has flu shots. Call 541-463-5665 to make an appointment. It's fast and easy. If you have OHP (Oregon Medicaid), it's free. Otherwise, it's $20.

Tutoring is also available online through the Tutoring Support Zoom Hub, as well as at the Downtown and Cottage Grove campuses. Schedules vary by location and tutor availability, and can be found on our website. Make an appointment or drop in at any of our centers during open hours for support!

LCC Dreams Fund now open to support DACA / Dreamer students
The Fall term Dream Fund scholarship application is now open for students who are not eligible for federal Financial Aid due to immigration status. Assistance prioritizes ESL students, students transitioning to credit classes and students pursuing short-term training. Additionally, this term there are also funds specifically for LCC students of Mexican origin with demonstrated financial need, thanks to the IME Becas Grant from the Mexican Consulate.

Do you have a concern about a class?
If you have a concern about a course your are taking, please talk with your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please consider filling out a class concern form. Common class concerns can include: not posting grades in a timely manner, unexpected changes in class modality/delivery, unreasonable changes to the syllabus, and grade penalties for academic misconduct without the opportunity to explain.
