Regarding the planned outage for LCC data center on Friday, August 16th:
Lanes IT department was able to adjust the planned outage times for servers that affect Moodle access. If users log into Moodle before 10:30am on Friday, August 16th they will be able to actively work in Moodle as long as they need. However, if the users account times out (no activity in Moodle for 2 hours after they have logged in) the user may not be able to login for the remainder of the day.
Our IT department believes the outage will be minimal and will not last the entire day. However, if failures occur during the data center testing this will prolong the outage.
Bottom line - if you would like to use Moodle on Friday, August 16th login before 10:30am. Remain actively working in Moodle as long as you need. If your account times out you may not be able to get back into Moodle until later in the day, possibly as late as 10:30pm as the original notice explained, but probably somewhere around 3pm.
