Hello Instructors,

Your Spring 18 courses are now available.  Student enrollments will be added the week of March 19th.  Please make sure to make your course(s) available when you are ready for students to access them. You will either need to click on the "Hidden Courses" link or search for your class using the CRN# to locate your hidden Spring courses.

Express Theme & Blackboard Collaborate Plugin Removal:
In the upcoming months, Express Theme and Blackboard Collaborate Plugin will be removed and no longer supported. If you’ve been using the Express theme, the newer "Boost" theme layout may appear different but it is quickly becoming the #1 theme choice because it works great on normal size screens as well as mobile devices. Additionally, SNAP, Clean, and More themes are considered legacy themes and earmarked for removal.

Meta Courses:
If you would like a Meta course or have questions on this process please contact the ATC before spring term begins. A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell.  If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to better streamline your work and reduce the need to duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple shells.

Course Design:
We have created a Quality Matters course template for anyone wanting to import all or part of this course into their shells.  The QM template is designed following the Quality Matters rubric to help instructors with course design.  We have received feedback from many students that they appreciate the simplicity and clear, consistent organization of this layout.

Please send a request to the ATC if you would like the QM template imported into your course.

Quick Help for the Beginning of the Term:

Importing a course from a previous term
Restoring a course from a downloaded backup
How to set your course to “show” (available) so students can access it

If you need help with course design, settings, course migration, Meta courses, etc., please contact us in the ATC (atc@lanecc.edu).
