Instructors,

Student summer 2019 enrollments are syncing with your summer Moodle courses. By default, courses are not set to "show" to enrolled students and they will not have access to your course until you update the course visibility setting.

=> Here is a guide that will walk you through how to make your course visible to students.

Hint: If you don't see your summer term course listed, be sure to check within the hidden section of your My Courses page. To help you close out a previous course or to open an upcoming course you can follow our recommended Moodle course Start of Term and End of Term procedures.

Moodle v3.6.3 Summer Upgrade & Downtime Notice

Our Moodle host will be performing a scheduled software upgrade on Thursday, July 11th from 12:30am to approximately 6:30am (PST). During this update, classes.lanecc.edu will be unreachable, intermittent and or slow to respond. Actual downtime is typically less than the hours allotted, but please plan accordingly. An additional notice will be sent out a week prior as a reminder.

Paid Summer Project Opportunities for Online Instructors

  • COURSE ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT - Instructional Design Services is looking for 10-12 instructors that teach online courses to help us with an accessibility tool pilot project. Participants will enable a Moodle plugin called ALLY that visually identifies accessibility issues within course documents and images. Once the documents and images are identified, we will work together to make them accessible. Project time is estimated at 5 hours. Participants will be paid CD rate for their time. Most work can be done remotely. If you are interested, please contact Meredith Keene at keenem@lanecc.edu and include the course short name and CRN number in your email.
  • IMPROVE YOUR ONLINE COURSE - Team up with colleagues to improve your online course through a structured, evaluative process of course review and reflection. There are two F2F class meetings and online time spent reviewing one another's courses. The term time commitment is 10-12 hours total which includes the two face-to-face meetings. Meeting dates to be determined.

Prereq: You must have taught the course a minimum of 1x through and it must be a recent course, taught within the last 2 years. A $300 stipend is awarded at completion of the project. This project is a joint effort between Academic Technology, Faculty Professional Development and of course, you, the faculty. For more information contact Meredith Keene at keenem@lanecc.edu
