Instructors,

I hope all of you have taken a moment to enjoy the sunny weather. It could be the excessive personal containment talking, but I think it's one of the best Oregon spring seasons we've had in a long time. Many of you have expressed that you are just starting to settle into spring term but believe it or not — summer is right around the corner.

Early Instructor Access to Summer 2020 Courses

We've started syncing Summer courses for early access. However, many courses have yet to be officially released by individual departments. If you don't see your course section and need to get started ASAP, the ATC can create you a temporary development shell to work in while you wait for the official class to become available.

To help you close out a previous course or to open an upcoming course you can follow our recommended Moodle course Start of Term and End of Term procedures.

Reminder: You will either need to click on the "Hidden Courses" link or search for your class using the CRN# to locate your hidden Summer courses. Student enrollments will be added one week prior to the beginning of the term. Please make sure to make your course(s) available when you are ready for students to access them.

✅ We Need Your Input Regarding Final Assignments

The library is working to establish a due date for student laptop and equipment returns for the end of Spring term.

--> Help us figure this out by filling out this 2 question survey!

With this information, the library can establish a due date for equipment that gives students enough time to finish their final assignments and also gives us the opportunity to wipe and prepare laptops for students in the summer. We appreciate your help!

Now’s a Great Time to Send Us Your Summer Term Meta Course Requests

A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell.  If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to streamline your work and reduce the need to post duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple shells. If you would like a Meta course or have questions on this process please contact the ATC before Summer term begins.

Working a Term Ahead

Want to revamp or work on a Fall term course? There's no need to wait for an official course shell to be built. Reach out to the ATC via email (atc@lanecc.edu) if you need help with development shells, course design, settings, course migration, Meta course requests, or you just want to ask us some questions.
