Instructors,
Winter 2021 student enrollments are now available within your Moodle course(s). By default, courses are not set to "show" to enrolled students and they will not have access to your course until you update the course visibility setting.
=> Here is a guide that will walk you through how to make your course visible to students.
Hint: If you don't see your winter term course listed, be sure to check within the hidden section of your My Courses page. To help you close out a previous course or to open an upcoming course you can follow our recommended Moodle course Start of Term and End of Term procedures.
Downtime Reminder: Moodle v3.9 Upgrade Scheduled for Wednesday, December 30
A friendly reminder that our Moodle host will be performing a scheduled upgrade on Wednesday, December 30th from 12:30am-6:30am (PST). During this update, classes.lanecc.edu will likely be unreachable and or slow to respond. Actual downtime is typically less than the hours allotted, but please plan accordingly.
Any last minute Meta Courses requests?
A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell. If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to better streamline your work and reduce the need to duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple courses. If you would like a Meta course or have questions on this process please email the ATC.Â

đ Canât Locate Your Winter Course in Moodle?Â
We do our best to keep Moodle synced with instructor course assignments in Banner but sometimes they don't match due to last minute changes. If you donât see your section listed, check the class schedule before sending an email to the ATC to ensure your department administrator has officially added you as an instructor of record. If the course is listed with a previous instructors name, send a request to the ATC to have it corrected.
âď¸Â Academic Technology Centerâs (ATC) Winter Break Hours
Most of the college will be completely closed over most of the winter break due to a combination of holidays and designated college closure days that were unable to be taken over the summer. The ATC has rearranged schedules in order to minimize the lapse in availability.
December 22nd - 29th: Closed for College Closure / Holidays
December 30th-31st: ATC open answering urgent emails + live virtual help 10a-2p
January 1st: Closed for Holidays
January 2nd-3rd: ATC open answering urgent emails + live virtual help 10a-2p
Resuming January 4th, winter term hours of operation will be:
- Zoom: ATC Virtual Support (live virtual help) | M-F 10a-2p
- E-mail: atc@lanecc.edu | M-F 8a-5p + limited weekend support
