Winter term Admissions, Advising & Financial Aid RegFest

 
Student Affairs will be offering drop-in assistance in admissions, advising, registration, and financial aid for Winter 2023.  New, continuing, and returning students are welcome!

Location: Building 1, Room 102-103

Good Luck on Finals & See You Winter Term!

Tutors will continue to offer you support in the Lane Support Hub Zoom Room and on campus (please visit our tutoring site to get the most accurate, up-to-date information) through Wednesday of finals week. 

Zoom:
  • Monday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

On campus:
  • Hours stay as is, but we’re only open through end-of-day Wednesday.

Important Note: Tutors are not permitted to help students on final exams. Tutors can help with clarity and studying before working on final exams, but cannot help with any tests.

Mental Health Tip of the Week: Relax!

Take some time to relax this winter break!  Relaxing helps to eliminate stress, improve memory, minimize anxiety, reduce muscle tension as well as keeping your heart healthy!  Here are some ways to relax during winter break. 

  • Meditate
  • Listen to music
  • Go outside and do something you enjoy
  • Take a nap
  • Have a conversation with someone that makes you happy

Oregon Student Child Care Grant

 

The OSAC Student Child Care grant program received additional funding this summer and has limited funds available to offer grants to student parents who are currently enrolled in college.

Grants will continue to be made on a first come first serve basis until funding has been exhausted.

Interested students can learn how to apply by emailing PublicPrograms@hecc.oregon.gov or by visiting the Oregon Student Child Care Grant webpage.

Don't let the Flu or COVID-19 ruin your winter break plans

There is still time to get vaccinated, vaccine clinics are scheduled at the Health Clinic during finals week.

The Health Clinic will be closed during Winter Break and reopen on January 9th. Call to make an appointment for any of your health care needs as soon as possible

Rainy Day Food Pantry Update

The Food Pantry is closed for winter break and for the month of January 2023. LCC recognizes students may still need supplemental food during winter break and January. To find a pantry near you, use this website.

The Student Food Pantry is available starting January 9, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 710 E. 17th Ave. (you will need a student ID).

If you need a student ID card to access any community social services, please request one to be mailed to you at no charge at using your LCC login.

Clothing Stash Update 

The Clothing Stash will be closed during winter break and for the month of January 2023.
 

Find cookbooks, crafts, and research help at Library

Level up in the kitchen! Visit the annual cookbook display for holiday dinner inspirations. Are you planning a winter feast, family celebration, or just dinner with a friend? Our display features recipes, techniques, ingredients and traditions from around the globe. Quinoa salad and shrimp gumbo to chocolate tart ... Level up!  

Makers Gonna Make. Handicrafts are a great way to keep the gloom away! Our Craft/Maker display includes dozens of books on knitting and sewing, drawing journaling, paper flowers, ropecraft, woodworking, and more. Find lots of inspiration for making meaningful gifts with your own hands!

Need research help? LCC librarians are available to help! Contact us by email, or chat directly from the orange ASK US button on the Library website. Or visit us in person at the Research Help desk from Monday to Thursday, 10 am-4 pm, and Fridays, 10 am- 2 pm.


Submit events and stories to the Titan Times

 
The Titan Times is shared with students weekly on Tuesdays. Submissions are due by 5 pm on Fridays during the regular term. If the campus is closed for a holiday on a Monday, the publication will be shared with students the following afternoon.  
 
Please include web links where students can find additional details of submitted information and submit posters or pictures as a .jpg or .png format. Submissions may be edited for content, clarity, and tone. Submit items for inclusion and suggestions to titantimes@lanecc.edu. Alternative formats are available through the Center for Accessible Resources.
