Attention Actors!

The Student Production Association of Lane Community College presents:

Auditions for "Winter Shorts!": A festival of new ten-minute plays

Auditions are open to students and community members, and no experience is necessary.

Parts are available for up to twenty-five actors of all types and gender and racial identities. This production is an excellent opportunity for emerging actors to experience the thrill of being in a show with a lower time commitment than a regular full production.

Auditions will be held on January 11 and 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Blue Door Theater. Performance dates are February 16-19.

For more information, contact Head of Theatre Brian Haimbach at haimbachb@lanecc.edu or 541-463-5648.

Oregon Student Child Care Grant

The OSAC Student Child Care grant program received additional funding this summer and has limited funds available to offer grants to student parents who are currently enrolled in college.

Grants will continue to be made on a first come first serve basis until funding has been exhausted.

Interested students can learn how to apply by emailing PublicPrograms@hecc.oregon.gov or by visiting the Oregon Student Child Care Grant webpage.

Volunteers Needed to Use Student Activity Fee

The Office of Student Life & Leadership is extending an important invitation for students to join the Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC).

The Committee will have the opportunity to make recommendations to the level of financial support that will be provided to student-initiated programs.

We are currently searching for committee members from the following organizations:

  • 2 student representatives selected by and from the "Unions"- MEChA, BSU, NASA, GSA and APISU
  • 1 student representative selected by the Council of Clubs
  • 3 at-large student representatives

If you are a member of one of the organizations listed above and would like to be part of the SAFC Committee, please complete the SAFC Committee Interest Form.

Our goal is to have the committee established by the end of January, 2023.

Rainy Day Food Pantry Update

The Food Pantry is closed for winter break and for the month of January 2023. LCC recognizes students may still need supplemental food during winter break and January. To find a pantry near you, use this website.

The Student Food Pantry is available starting January 9, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 710 E. 17th Ave. (you will need a student ID).

If you need a student ID card to access any community social services, please request one to be mailed to you at no charge at using your LCC login.

Clothing Stash Update

The Clothing Stash will be closed during winter break and for the month of January 2023.
