Welcome back, students!

 
For those of you new to the College, welcome to LCC! You are now a Titan (our college's mascot). For those of you returning from Fall Term, LCC hopes you had a good break and holiday season.

The sessions will be held on Thursday, January 19, both in-person and on Zoom:

Prof. Ivory Toldson to speak at Jan. 12 MLK event

Lane Community College will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in an event featuring academic, author and NAACP leader Dr. Ivory A. Toldson on Thursday, January 12, from 5:30-7:30 pm. The hybrid event will occur in Building 19, Room 226, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene, as well as a streamed/virtual option via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required to attend the event virtually on Zoom.

Dr. Ivory A. Toldson is the national director of Education Innovation and Research for the NAACP, professor of counseling psychology at Howard University and editor-in-chief of The Journal of Negro Education.

Stick it to the flu...and COVID too

New Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics are scheduled at the Health Clinic. See the links below to schedule an appointment. Flu shots can be given on any day, so if these dates don't work for you, call the Health Clinic to schedule an appointment 541-463-5665. Check the Health Clinic website for new vaccination clinic dates throughout the term. 

Win prizes by being sober-curious this month

E-mail your goal for Dry January and enter a drawing to win wellness prizes through LCC's Mental Health and Wellness Center, along with your name and L#, to mhwc@lanecc.edu before January 31. Any reduction in alcohol and/or other drug use can yield health benefits.
 

Health care for students on campus and online

The LCC Student Health and Wellness Center offers free and low-cost health care, mental health counseling, and addiction services to LCC students. Call 541-463-5665 to schedule an in-person or telehealth appointment. Also, e-mail MWWC@lanecc.edu for counseling and addiction services. Learn more at health and wellness here.

Show me the money: learn how to apply

Many scholarships have deadlines on March 1 and 2. Attend these workshops to learn more:

Workshop #1: Intro to Scholarships and Start Your Applications. After reviewing the Lane Foundation, OSAC, and Ford Family Foundation scholarships, we’ll help you start your online applications. Please arrive at the workshop start time.

Workshop #2: Applications and Personal Statements Review. Bring drafts of personal statements for review by writing tutors and us, as well as work on your online applications. Drop in anytime during these workshop hours.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, Women's Basketball plays Clackamas at 2 pm. Men's Basketball plays Clackamas at 4 pm.

Campus departments and community agencies will converge at the Center Building second-floor atrium on Thursday, February 2, 12-3 pm.
 
Plan to be on campus on this day to talk with people representing a wide range of student services.
