Hello Instructors,

Your Spring 2019 courses are now available. You will either need to click on the "Hidden Courses" link or search for your class using the CRN# to locate your hidden Winter courses. Please make sure to make your course(s) available when you are ready for students to access them. Student enrollments will be added one week prior (March 25th) to the beginning of the term.

Instructional Design Services (IDS)

Instructional Design Services has created a course template designed from OPEN SUNY Course Quality Rubric (OSCQR).  The IDs course template was developed to help instructors create a well-designed student centered online/hybrid course.  Please feel free to review the course as a Guest. If you would like to learn more or would like all or specific portions of the template imported into your course please contact us at idservices@lanecc.edu

Now Processing Meta Course Requests

A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell.  If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to streamline your work and reduce the need to post duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple shells. If you would like a Meta course or have questions on this process please contact the ATC before winter term begins.

What's New?

  • Join Our Accessibility Pilot Program and Try a New Course Plugin
The ATC is piloting a plugin called "Ally" which automatically provides specific instructor feedback and guidance on how to improve the accessibility of content and files within Moodle courses. Ally Demo Videos:  Student Experience | Instructor Experience If your interested in seeing what this plugin can do, get more info and follow these instructions.

  • Clean and More Themes expiring in July 1, 2019
A majority of instructors have already migrated over to using the "Boost" theme which continues to be the theme of choice for accessibility and mobile device reasons. For those instructors that have not, support for those themes will be removed by our hosting provider before the summer term begins on July 1, 2019.

Quick Help for the Beginning of the Term:

If you need assistance with course design, settings, course migration, Meta courses, etc., please contact the ATC (atc@lanecc.edu) or come visit us in the Center Building Room 208 – down the hall from the Library and Blenders Coffee Shop.
