Hello Instructors,
Summer is coming to an end (👻) and your Fall courses are now available to you!
Student enrollments will be added the week of September 16, 2019 (one week prior to the start of the fall term). Please make sure to make your course(s) available when you are ready for students to access them. You will either need to click on the "Hidden Courses" link or search for your class using the CRN# to locate your hidden Fall courses.
Check out the new accessibility features by attending one of our fall 2019 inservice Ally demonstrations!
*New* ALLY Accessibility Icons Displayed Next To Course Content
ALLY automatically provides instructor feedback via colored gauges(only visible to instructors) and guidance on how to improve the accessibility of content and files within Moodle courses. This tool also automatically offers alternate formats via a download button to students in your course.
*New* One-Click Course Accessibility Report
New personalized compact accessibility report provides instructors an overview, suggestions, and a workflow to improve the accessibility of your course content. This report streamlines workflow by giving you the easiest or most import items to fix. Check out more information on how it works at Course Accessibility Report.
You can find more information at our help articles: Using Ally and alternate formats in Moodle and Using the Ally Accessibility Feature. Ally Demos videos: Ally Student Experience | Ally Instructor Experience. If you have any questions or need help with making a document more accessible contact the ATC.Â
Meta Course Requests
A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell. If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to streamline your work and reduce the need to post duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple shells. If you would like a Meta course or have questions on this process simply send a meta course request to the ATC via email (atc@lanecc.edu) before fall term begins.
