⚠️ Moodle v3.7 Upgrade Scheduled for Friday, December 27th | 12:30am-11:30am (PST)
Our Moodle hosting provider will be applying a software upgrade on Friday, December 27th between 12:30am-11:30am Pacific Standard Time (PST). During this upgrade, classes.lanecc.edu will be unreachable and/or slow to respond. Actual downtime is typically less than the hours allotted, but please plan accordingly.
New Features Include:

Forums: Adding and replying to discussions can now be done 'inline' without navigating away from the discussion. Further Forum enhancements include the ability to star and sort discussions. Private replies within a forums will be possible along with manually locking discussion threads.

Assignments: Rotate submitted PDFs within an assignment. New icons allow you to change the orientation of submitted assignments for easier grading.

Messaging enhancements include a link to a full page, 2 column view and the ability to mute conversations. A personal space is now made for notes, links and reminders as part of the Messaging drawer.

Sitewide Theme Changes
The site will transition to utilizing a dark blue top navigation bar and a light blue bottom footer. The changes will improve uniformity between LaneCC's website and Moodle. More importantly, it will make it easier to differentiate class content from site navigation.
Major Mobile Only Browser Improvements
- Increased space for page content.
- Less thumb scrolling (yay!). Navigation breadcrumbs and page titles are hidden leaving more room for course content.
- Gradebook and participant lists collapse to a simplified view.
- Improvements in padding & layout to reduce content overlapping.
Moodle Mobile App
- Improved app login process. Authorization is now done directly within the app vs a browser connection.
- Upon login, the user is immediately directed to their dashboard and list of courses.
- Partial color scheme update: Blue header and footer navigation bars instead of orange. Note: Overriding Moodle’s orange color scheme is proving difficult without incurring custom App development costs. This is just the first step. We hope to make more comprehensive theme adjustments within the coming year.
Zoom Pro Activity in Moodle
We are migrating to Zoom pro in Moodle. All older zoom meetings currently in courses will be moved forward into the zoom pro configuration automatically.

Meta Courses - Now taking any last minute Meta course requests for winter term. If you have questions or would like to submit a request please email the Academic Technology Center (ATC) at atc@lanecc.edu.
ℹ️ A Meta course allows you to combine multiple sections into one Moodle shell. If you teach multiple courses of the same section a Meta course allows you to streamline your work and reduce the need to post duplicate resources, activities, etc. into multiple shells.
