Instructors,

⚠️ Ally (Accessibility Component within Moodle) will be unavailable on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:00PM Pacific Standard Time.

The maintenance entails an upgrade of the underlying Ally database, which can unfortunately not be achieved without downtime.  During the maintenance window, the Institutional Report, Configuration UI and Course Accessibility Report will be unavailable and the Instructor Feedback and Alternative Formats will not be displayed within courses however all other Moodle functions will continue to operate as normal.

🗒️ Status Update: Quickmail Block

The quickmail block, commonly used to send bulk emails to students, is currently incompatible with the Moodle v3.7 update our Moodle host rolled out over the winter break. Our host has acknowledged the issue and they are actively creating a patch to deploy within the next couple of weeks that will temporarily fix the error till the plugin's author can publish an official software update.

For now please use the News and Announcements forum in your course as a work around to email your entire class if your course is unhidden. If it is still hidden we would suggest to use gmail along with your class list that you can get from myLane or exported from Moodle by using the export gradebook feature.

Working a Term Ahead

We’ll be creating spring 2020 courses in Moodle on February 10th. Now would be a great time to reach out to the ATC (atc@lanecc.edu) if you need help with development shells, course design, settings, course migration, Meta course requests, or you just want to ask us some questions.
