Welcome to our H5P activities page for HP 100: Medical Terminology!
This course focuses on helping students learn common medical prefixes, suffixes, root words, combining forms, terms, and abbreviations used in a variety of healthcare settings.
This webpage includes H5P activities aimed to help students practice:

All activities are meant to supplement the textbook Medical Terminology for Healthcare Professions (Nelson, A., & Greene, K., 2021), a fabulous open education resource (OER) which already contains many useful interactive activities. The activities listed on this webpage are also OERs, so please feel free to use them openly. We always appreciate feedback and opportunities for collaboration.

Voice recognition exercises enables vocabulary and pronunciation checks answered by a user's own voice. Speak the Words Set makes use of HTML5, Speak The Words H5P content type, and utilizes Google's Web Speech API. The Web Speech API is free, but has limited browser support. Users must allow microphone access in their browsers to this course in order for the speech recognition to work.
⚠️ The speech engine used is currently only available for Google Chrome browsers.
